Patrick Smith, ND, BCHHP
Patrick began his career as a financial advisor at Citigroup before turning to health and performance, and has spent the decades since alongside athletes, from grade school through the NFL, as a practitioner, an advisor, and a constant presence in their development. Together with the team behind our group, including longtime partner Frank Cona, our relationships with athletes, coaches, and programs reach back more than three decades, and through our training and development programs we see and advise thousands of athletes every year.
When Michigan opened name, image, and likeness for high school athletes in 2026, he founded Regent so that the families he had worked with for years would have representation that put the athlete first, built by someone who already knew them.
Regent is headquartered in Rochester Hills and works with athletes wherever they compete.

Each company operates independently, and Regent's role is representation alone. Together they mean the people advising an athlete on a deal are the same people who have watched that athlete train, recover, and grow, often for years. Patrick is also the founder of Recover the Dream, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving young athletes and their families.

A regent is someone who acts with authority on another's behalf, and answers to them for it. That is the job. The crown belongs to the athlete.
